A beautiful recipe, styling ideas & why Easter’s about more than chocolate...

There’s something truly special about Easter. As the weather turns golden and the pace of life softens, it’s the perfect time to gather those you love—family, friends, neighbours, even last-minute guests—for a day of connection, comfort and a little countryside charm.

Whether it’s an afternoon feast under a gum tree or hot cross buns by the fire, Easter isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. The laughter, the lingering conversations, and the feeling of fullness that has nothing to do with chocolate.

To help you host a gathering filled with warmth and ease, we’ve turned to one of our favourite cooks and storytellers—Sophie Hansen.

Slow-Roasted Lamb Shoulder with
Garlic & Herbs

A Sophie Hansen Favourite

Tender, flavour-packed and oh-so-forgiving, this
lamb shoulder is the ultimate centrepiece for a relaxed Easter lunch. Servebwith roasted autumn veggies, crusty bread, and a simple green salad.

Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

1 lamb shoulder (bone-in)

4 garlic cloves, sliced

Handful of rosemary and thyme

Olive oil, salt, pepper

1 cup of chicken stock or white wine

Method:

Preheat oven to 160°C.

Make small slits in the lamb and tuck in garlic and herbs.

Drizzle with olive oil, season well.

Place in a baking tray with stock or wine.

Cover tightly with foil and roast for 4 hours until it’s falling apart.

Uncover, turn up heat to 200°C for 20 mins to crisp the edges.

Set the scene for slow feasting and long conversations with a table layered in natural textures and thoughtful details. Start with one of our pure linen tablecloths or runners in earthy neutrals—stone, clay, or oat—then build your setting with handmade ceramics, and artisan wooden boards perfect for shared grazing.
