We’ve brought the heart of Harry and Kit to Moree, and we’re loving every minute of it. With our pop-up shop now open in the main street, we’ve been swept up in the warmth, creativity, and unmistakable country charm that make Moree such a special place. From morning coffees with locals to late-afternoon strolls beneath wide, cotton-filled skies, we’ve been soaking up all the magic this northern NSW gem has to offer. So we thought: why keep it to ourselves?
Whether you're planning a weekend away, road-tripping through the region, or simply need an excuse to dip into the artesian baths and discover something new, here’s how to spend a perfect day in northern New South Wales town of Moree.
Begin your day on Balo Street, where the scent of fresh espresso mingles with the morning air. Drop into Brooker Trading Co, or 61 Balo, beloved by locals for their relaxed atmospheres, strong coffee, and freshly baked goodies. Grab a sun-drenched seat and enjoy a flaky pastry, warm muffin (from Brooker - its our fav) or something hearty, you’ll want the energy for a wander.
Stroll through the heart of Moree and uncover its charming collection of boutique stores. From beautifully curated fashion and unique homewares to character-filled furniture pieces sourced from near and far, every store tells a story of creativity gathered from the owners local and worldly experiences. Browse the local bookshop (Wisewords) for something to curl up with, and don’t miss the Harry and Kit pop-up on the corner of Heber Street and Balo Street, where our latest finds and signature style come to life.
Moree’s proud Aboriginal heritage and agricultural heartland come alive in its art and culture. Head to the BAMM (Bank of Art Museum Moree) or The Moree Gallery for a surprisingly sophisticated curation of contemporary works and traditional Indigenous pieces. It's a powerful reminder that Moree is more than just a stop, it's a meeting place of stories and deep connection to land.
Afterwards, take the scenic route around town. Drive along the Gwydir River, past fields of cotton, barley or wheat (depending on the season), where the sky stretches wide and the light feels just a little softer.
No trip to Moree is complete without surrendering to the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre, a naturally heated oasis drawn from the Great Artesian Basin. Slide into the mineral-rich waters that have been bubbling below the earth’s surface for over a million years. It's equal parts relaxation and remedy, believed to ease everything from sore muscles to modern-day stress.
Spend an hour or two here and you’ll emerge refreshed, skin glowing, mind unwound.
As golden hour casts its light across town, settle in for dinner at Amaroo Tavern or Brooker Trading Co (when open for evening dining) for something more unique and agritourism-inspired. There’s nothing rushed here, just quality ingredients, good wine, and friendly service that makes you feel like family.
If you’re staying overnight, cosy up in one of Moree’s charming cottages (our fav is Sixty Three Moree) or warm welcoming motels.
Moree is more than its hot springs and heritage, it’s a beautiful balance of luxury and land, culture and community. It’s where the pace is slower, the people are warmer, and the details matter.
It’s the kind of place that lingers with you, like the scent of eucalyptus after rain, or the feeling of sun-warmed terracotta tiles underfoot.
