Working from her home studio overlooking the rolling countryside of northern NSW, Australian abstract artist Kate Owen creates expressive works filled with freedom, curiosity and playful spontaneity.
Inspired by the wonder of childhood, nature and her love of florals, Kate works intuitively with acrylic paint and oil sticks. Guided by music, she layers colour, texture and sweeping brushstrokes, allowing each composition to develop its own rhythm and character.
Painting full-time since 2017, Kate has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, received several art awards and been named a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize. Her work is represented by Wentworth Galleries in Brisbane and Sydney.
