Rich with patina and the marks of age, this vintage wooden horse carries the quiet character of an object that has lived another life.
Sourced from India, its hand-carved form is reminiscent of the painted wooden horses found within Rajasthani folk tradition, where the horse has long been a symbol associated with ceremony, celebration and nobility. Traces of hand-painted red, ochre and decorative detailing remain across the timber, softened beautifully by time.
Now raised on a simple stand, its sculptural form and wonderfully worn surface make it a natural piece for a console, sideboard or collected shelf.
